Julie Emmer has been a licensed psychotherapist for over 25 years. During this time she has worked with many different kinds of people in settings such as mental health clinics, crisis clinics, substance abuse treatment facilities, and hospitals.
She also has over 25 years of teaching experience in graduate programs of Social Work, first at the University of Central Florida, and more recently with the University of Southern California’s online Virtual Academic Center. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and a Master Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP).
She is a seasoned trainer and public speaker, and has authored trainings on dozens of topics for audiences such as clinical professionals, law enforcement officers, and the general public. As a Qualified Clinical Supervisor, she has mentored dozens of young therapists on their path to licensure.
Julie Emmer is a single mom and proud parent of two young women, both of whom have finished college and are making their mark on the world. Originally from Ohio, she has lived in Central Florida for over 20 years. She enjoys good books, Law and Order reruns, and is definitely a dog person.
